24 March 2015

Those annoying days when your skin decides to be angry at you and cover you with blemishes! When you wake up from a nice sleep and your faced with an unpleasant angry bumps! I myself have struggled with blemishes especially on my forehead. I have tried many products to help calm/keep away spots from luxury items to more drug store products.

There are various ways to help calm breakouts, dont let it bring you down though, nothing is worse than spending your time worrying about your skin. Your beautiful either way :) and believe me there are products out there that can help treat and calm breakouts. You just have to experiment and find something that works for you. Not only should you have a good skin care regime to help minimise breakouts. It is also vital to make sure you drink loads of water! This is a massive must if you actually want to see a big difference and it really works! So, let me take you on a journey about these two amazing products that help calm and keep away breakouts..

I have always heard amazing reviews on Lush and always been keen to try their products...

Lush create the most gorgeous products from fresh, organic fruit, vegetables and essential oils! How can you go wrong here? Using natures finest is always a win for me. Not only this, they do not test on animals and only buy their ingredients from those who do not test on animals - another bonus for me.

The other thing i really love about Lush, is that they really do love their employees. Every product has a little cartoon sticker with the name of the person that actually created the product (soap, mask, shampoo etc) how cute is that? Anyway, im blabbing on. Right let me explain how awesome these two products are...

Mask Of Magnaminty - Self Preserving

lush mask of magnaminty

This gorgeous mask is so amazing if your skin is feeling a little under the weather! I have the self preserving one so i dont have to worry about using it within a certain time. You can get the normal one which is freshly made and i think lasts a couple weeks. This mask helps clean and bring out all the dirt in your skin, as well as calming any active breakouts! I usually put this mask on about once/twice a week depending how my skin is. I always put this on in the evening. The texture of this mask is great, it has evening primrose seeds and aduki beans which help exfoliate your skin as you remove the mask. It also has antibacterial honey and peppermint oil which helps cure and stimulate the blood cells. I will list of all key ingredients below and their benefits.

I tend to only use this mask on my face, but this mask can actually be used anywhere that you are experiencing breakouts or eruptions. I keep this on for about 10-15 minutes, sometimes longer because it smells soon god damn good and makes me feel really relaxed. It really works for me, especially if i have active breakouts it really soothes and helps them heal faster! Sometimes, if i have an active spot, i tend to put a dab of this mask just over the spot and leave it for about 10mins if i dont need to put it all over my face.

No harsh chemicals, Do not test on animals, Natural and pure ingredients! What more can your skin ask for?

A Few Key Natural Ingredients
Honey - is an antiseptic and a natural humectant (attracts and retains moisture) it helps condition the skin and thoroughly clean the skin.

Ground Aduki Beans- helps remove dead skin cells (exfoliate the mask off your face when washing). It helps polish the skin making it look healthy, fresh and glowing.

Tea Tree Toner Water

This toner is so lovely, it feels so clean and refreshing when put onto the skin. You can either spray this onto your face or spray onto a cotton pad and wipe over your face (i tend to go for the cotton pad). It has 3 really key natural ingredients which help fight bacteria, soothe and help heal spots as well as preventing further spots. I used this product in the morning and in the night just after i have cleansed my face. I have noticed a real difference in the way my skin looks since using this product it defo works! (apologies for the bad pic, i have had my bottle for some time and its abit worn).

A Few Key Natural Ingredients
Tea Tree Water - scientifically proven to have antibacterial and anti-fungal properties

Grapefruit Water - also contain antibacterial and antiseptic properties

Juniperberry Water - a strong antiseptic which is very good for helping spot prone and oily skin types.

    2. Hi Shareena, sorry to hijack your post but I wasn't sure if you'd receive it on mine. Re: Birchbox v Glossybox, I think it comes down to personal preference. I've received both in the past and I'd say that they were pretty much on par with regards to value for money. I love that this site http://whichbeautyboxuk.com/ posts what's inside each month's beauty boxes. Perhaps you could review the posts and see which box features the brands you like the most? :-) xx
